The 2023 Prickly Pear Festival will be on Saturday, August 26, 2023 in Superior, Arizona. Originally organized by the Boyce Thompson Arboretum, the festival highlights the prickly pear fruit and all its many uses. This is a real celebration to enjoy a pancake breakfast, eating prickly pear treats like ice cream and there will be guest speakers and demonstrations. Admission to the Prickly Pear Festival is free. The festival is held on Main Street in Superior. Just look for the signs.
Tucson Village Farm is setting the table for a farm-fresh dinner featuring Arizona heritage grains with special guest Don Guerra. Barrio Bread, Don Guerra to bring you an unforgettable Spring gathering - a delicious farm-fresh dinner featuring Arizona heritage grains on the farm’s outdoor patio overlooking the majestic Catalina Mountains. Enjoy a drink, the sunset, and dine alfresco!
The Melrose Street Fair on 7th Avenue will have artisans, family activities, a car show, live music, food trucks, and a beer garden. Free and open to the public.

Join the CCOF Foundation, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), and Community Alliance with Family Farmers (CAFF) for a webinar that provides updates on the Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA) Produce Safety Rule. This webinar will provide a brief overview of the three categories farms are classified into under the law: fully exempt, qualified exempt (partially exempt), and fully covered (need to be in full compliance). Presenters from CAFF and FDA’s Division of Produce Safety will share food safety resources available to growers to assist them in meeting FSMA requirements. Additionally, we will review the current water requirements for farms that need to be in full compliance with FSMA Produce Safety Rule.
This event is part of LDEI International's "Table Talk' series involving programs from all chapters during the month of March - to celebrate women and a women's organization.
Proceeds raised are distributed throughout our local community in the form of culinary scholarships and financial support to non-profit food related organizations.
