Please join us for an Agave Roast & Learn February 27th and March 1st in Tucson, AZ. Come experience an agave roast and learn about the plant's many uses, including its role as a low-water climate-smart crop in Arizona!
This is a free event organized by the Arizona The Arizona-Alliance for Climate Smart Crops in collaboration with Tucson Village Farm.
Directions: From Campbell Ave, turn east onto Rodger Rd and continue to the end of the paved road. Park in the dirt lot to the south of the Tucson Village Farm education center. Walk towards the education center and follow signs for the agave roast.

Agave "put-in" - Thursday February 27th, 10am - Noon
10am - 11am: Roasting pit demonstration
Culture and history of Agave in the drylands
Pit firing, agave preparation demo
Climate-smart tastings (nopales, agave syrup)
Fiber extraction demo
11am - Noon: Tour of agave and prickly pear field trial at the Campus Farm.
