2022 Annual Arizona Farm to School Gathering: VIRTUAL SESSIONS

The 2022 Annual Arizona Farm to School Gathering provides an opportunity to share successes, discuss challenges, and support innovative work across professions and communities.

INTENDED AUDIENCES The Farm to School Gathering is for all people who desire to increase access to local food and food education in their school communities. Whether you have a desire to start a school garden and don’t know where to start, or are a seasoned advocate of local food procurement, this event is for you. Intended audiences include but are not limited to; child nutrition program operators (NSLP/SBP, SFSP CACFP, and FFVP), educators, administrators, legislators, researchers, farmers, ranchers, growers, gardeners, food system advocates, program specialists, community members and volunteers.

Participants can now register free of charge for in-person experiences on Friday, May 6, 2022, and a day of virtual sessions on Monday, May 9, 2022. If you have any questions, please email azfarmtoschoolnetwork@gmail.com.

DETAILS OF THE VIRTUAL EVENT: Participants will be able to tune into virtual sessions from the comfort of their own home. A welcome and keynote address will be followed by concurrent sessions presented by local experts covering topics related to Arizona school gardens, food education, and local food procurement. During these interactive sessions, local experts will share their knowledge and experiences while also facilitating discussion to create space for participants to bring their knowledge and experiences to the conversation. These sessions will take place concurrently to ensure every audience has a space to participate that is relevant to their unique farm to school efforts. An event program and agenda will be released in the weeks leading up to the Farm to School Gathering.
