You are invited to join the Sonoran Desert Conference Center for an exclusive experience to head into the desert to harvest the fruit of the towering saguaro cactus.

During the Saguaro Fruit Harvest Weekend, guests will participate in an authentic saguaro harvest, waking up with the sun and knocking down saguaro fruit using traditional kukuipad - long poles made of cactus ribs.

Harvesting the deliciously sweet and lusciously red fruit is a Tohono Oʼodham tradition that signals the coming monsoon rains. This is a rare opportunity to harvest saguaro in Organ Pipe Cactus National Monument, with an authorized Native guide.

Back at the Inn, guests will turn their harvest into saguaro fruit syrup in a cooking workshop guided by Lorraine Eiler of the Tohono O'odham Nation (pictured above after a harvest in Alamo Canyon).

There will be other cultural experiences and workshops, all with the SDCC's trademark flair for connecting guests with local activities and cuisine. The weekend package all-inclusive price includes hotel accommodations, meals (featuring different cactus dishes!), workshops, and all harvest activities. All are welcome!
