Darrell Yazzie Jr., from the Navajo Nation, with nearly a decade of dedicated farming experience, has focused on Navajo traditional and local Indigenous seeds to boost seed populations and promote land stewardship. Darrell advocates for rangeland restoration by educating communities on integrating modern methods grounded in Indigenous perspectives. He aims to foster a local economy by enhancing community knowledge of sustainable management practices and holding a Bachelor of Science in Biology with an emphasis on plants from Diné College in Tsaile, AZ. Darrell collaborates with chapters across the Navajo Nation. He aims to nurture a communal approach to educating Navajo communities on farming, ranching, rangeland management, and restorative practices. He strives to create a collective relationship between plants, animals, land, and humans, ensuring a sustainable and prosperous future for current and future generations.
