From June 15th to the 21st, farmers markets across Arizona unite behind Fresh. Healthy. Arizona Farmers Markets to promote safe practices. As the state of Arizona is getting back to business, it’s more important than ever that farmers markets, vendors, and customers continue best health practices to keep our markets safe, essential, and open to the community at large.

Farmers market managers from Lake Havasu to Winslow, from Flagstaff to Nogales (and everywhere in between!) are banding together to promote healthy practices at their markets.

"To keep markets operating safely we need the continued support of our customers to follow market guidelines, said Zoë Anderson, manager of the Tucson area’s Heirloom Farmers Markets. “We're excited to join arms with our other fellow Arizona Farmers Markets and continue our efforts keeping our markets healthy spaces for our community to shop."

In addition to the best practices promoted by leading health officials (like practicing physical distancing of 6 feet, washing your hands frequently for at least 20 seconds or use hand sanitizer, and staying home if you or someone you know is sick), customers are asked to help keep Arizona Farmers Markets healthy by adhering to the following practices:

✅ Shop quickly and do not linger to socialize.

✅ Come prepared with a shopping list.

✅ No sampling or eating onsite.

✅ Bring exact change or pay with a debit card. Pre-order or prepay when possible.

✅ Shop with your eyes, not with your hands. Vendors will assist you.

✅ Be social and tag your favorite markets on social media using the tags #lovemyAZmarkets #keepfarmersmarketsessential and #freshhealthyazfarmersmarkets

Join us to stand with these markets and keep Arizona Farmers Markets healthy!

All participating markets and promotional materials can be found online at www.FreshHealthyArizonaFarmersMarkets.org. Markets who are interested in joining the campaign can do so by emailing us here.
