We are an official nonprofit sustainable living and agricultural education site.
Our mission is to address global challenges via local actions by nurturing community, democracy, and practical sustainability through empowering education.
The Flagstaff EcoRanch, an official 501c(3), is an ongoing experiment in sustainable living and small scale agriculture. It is a demonstration site open for learners of all ages, residents, non-residents, and volunteers with a common goal of nurturing community, democracy, and practical sustainability.
All individuals have an impact to the planet, some more than others, but we encourage that all people work collectively towards first understanding their ecological footprint and second, finding ways and rates to reduce that ecological footprint that positively reinforce their successes. We believe this is best done through the idea of practical sustainability; finding what is comfortable and starting small, then progressively working towards larger impacts. The Flagstaff EcoRanch will make practical environmental sustainability accessible to Flagstaff residents regardless of income bracket, education, or living situation through workshops, social media, and consulting. If you are a homeowner, renter, student, sustainability veteran or rookie, the Flagstaff EcoRanch will provide programming that will help you access the guilt-free sustainability education you desire.
Through our programing, the Flagstaff EcoRanch will strengthen ties within Flagstaff by cultivating community conversations that are culturally, economically, and socially representative of Northern Arizona. The Flagstaff EcoRanch promotes democratic values such as justice, individual liberty, community involvement, and civic literacy in order to nurture a citizenry of all ages, cultures, and political persuasions. We will advocate for positive, unobtrusive change in government and the private sector.
The Flagstaff EcoRanch is optimistic and sees individual and community-led changes as having a cumulative and positive impact on the earth. All goals are designed with the community in mind and available for the public to view or get involved. We offer varying platforms that meaningfully and purposefully reduce human impacts to the environment while progressing the EcoRanch’s fundamental goal of nurturing community, democracy, and practical sustainability.
