Growing Community One Garden at a Time
Ajo Center for Sustainable Agriculture was established in the spring of 2008, and received the non-profit status in 2013. ACSA's program activities focus on the education about Sonoran Desert agro-ecological systems, sustainable and economically viable agricultural practices, and empowerment of the community to grow food based on the distributed agriculture model through Ajo Gardeners Network. ACSA manages the Dolce Vita Market Garden (on McKinley and 4th) and the 1/2 acre Many Hands Urban Farm and Learning Center at the Curley School Campus with a chicken coop, heirloom orchard, traditional dry-land garden and several other teaching elements. ACSA established and runs bi-weekly Authentically Ajo Farmers Market (2nd and 4th Saturday of each month). ACSA is a founding member of Ajo Regional Food Partnership, and a member of the Tohono O'odham Farm and Food Working Group.
Ajo Center for Sustainable Agriculture now offers a CSA program as well. For more info please contact email@example.com.
